The Time Century Jewelry District, slated to revitalize Downtown Miami’s historic jewelry sector, received a statement of support from Miami-Dade County and its Mayor, Daniella Levine Cava today. Yair Levy, the developer of the Time Century Jewelry Center, is championing the renaissance of this district and will work with the Miami-Dade Beacon Council and the Downtown Development Authority to establish an advisory committee of local, national and international experts that would work together to attract world-class jewelry retailers, manufacturers, designers and diamond dealers to Miami.

A seasoned New York developer, Levy is the first to focus exclusively on the jewelry sector and has committed to invest $50 million in the Time Century Jewelry Center meant to house almost 300 jewelry-focused businesses and anchor the district. Levy, feels the time has arrived to "take a lightning rod" to Miami’s jewelry sector, and knows that convening an advisory committee of experts will provide the shared vision needed to accelerate that growth.

One of those leaders is Haygo Demir, an expert in jewelry manufacturing and retail distribution. "I am all about growth in the jewelry industry and feel that the Miami market is positioned for substantial growth and wanted to help develop this new opportunity." Says Demir, Founder of Demir Group International, a sales and marketing agency for leading jewelry and watch brands that distribute to cruise retailers, in South East U.S., the Caribbean, Central, and South America. Demir brings expertise in retail tourism and the cruise industry. Kirsten Darrow, a distinguished authority on jewelry retail, consumer trends and strategic positioning, has also been named a vital role with the advisory board. Darrow will focus on the development of key industry relationships for the Miami market. “Jewelry is universal, meaningful, and is an industry built on relationships. I am thrilled to help cultivate and bring new, valuable relationships and partnerships to this landmark opportunity that will benefit Downtown Miami, the jewelry industry and deliver an unparalleled customer experience.”

Deborah Scarpa, of DJS3 will spearhead all of the marketing and communication for the advisory and Time Century Jewelry Center. Yair Levy, the developer has Scarpa focused on a high-quality diamond laboratory. "We need a top quality and prestigious diamond grading research laboratory here in the Time Century Jewelry District. This will be great for the whole district because of safety and convenience, but also because they act as an educational facility for gemology training and credibility monitoring of the industry in general." Confirms Levy. "The public trust in diamond grading, certification and purchasing bring commerce;" says Levy.

“Global brands across industries establish a footprint in Miami-Dade to showcase the best of who they are – and jewelry is no exception," said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “A thriving jewelry industry is a natural fit for a world-class, international destination known for its creativity, fashion, arts and culture. We are excited to support the development of an advisory committee dedicated to the revitalization of this district and look forward to having these efforts drive jobs, growth and investment in our creative industries and community as a whole.”

“Miami-Dade County is rich with talent and expertise in a variety of creative sectors, and there is a long history of jewelry designers, manufacturers, gemologists, and retailers that serve our local, national and international clientele,” says James Kohnstamm, EVP, Economic Development at the Miami-Dade Beacon Council. “Beyond the jobs, this effort has the potential to drive collaboration between private sector business leaders, local government and organizations like ours, the Miami DDA and others. This type of dialogue and shared commitment to Miami’s success is what sets this community apart and helps us capitalize on this momentum long-term.”

Downtown Miami is now ready to take advantage of the unprecedented surge in investment in residential properties in close proximity to Yair Levy's new venture, Time Century Jewelry Center at 1 NE 1st Street. Levy has begun transforming an iconic building in the heart of downtown Miami into a luxury jewelry center and district "I want to thank Mayor Levine Cava and the Board of County Commissioners for their support because what we plan to do will help all of Downtown Miami," says Levy. His New York-based company, Time Century Holdings, is updating an older city block into the jewel of Downtown. The $50 million renovations of the 225,000 square-foot building will be home to some of the top designers from around the world. Time Century Jewelry Center is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2022. "This multicultural community is the best place to bring a focus on luxury jewelry and watches," says Levy. The growth will be exponential with luxury condos and apartments being developed in close proximity. Levy predicts a robust flow of consumers to the building that will also house two upscale eateries. Along with the constant influx of tourists, Levy forecasts it could make his Time Century Jewelry Center a jewelry mecca and a landmark must-see for all visitors and residents alike. More about Time Century Jewelry District: Plans to open Levy's first project in Miami is targeted for summer 2022, offering over 225,000 square feet within their beautifully appointed luxury landmark location. The entire project is designed with the latest state-of-the-art conveniences necessary to service the growing influx of jewelers, watch companies and jewelry trade services now establishing themselves in the heart of downtown Miami. With a large three-story atrium and custom-designed escalators, shoppers can see through to the elegant salons throughout the first three levels. Most of the retail spaces will have unobstructed signage viewable from the main floor. Visiting customers will also benefit from Time Century's very own valet parking service or select from several newly-built public parking garages steps away from the building.

Downtown Miami is slated to be one of the fastest-growing downtown areas in the nation, re-vitalizing the largest anchor tower located at 1 NE First Street and E. Flagler Street, soon to be one of the most vibrant jewelry districts in the country.
